Hotel DescriptionThe Stephen's Green Hotel is a lovely 4 star establishment set in the heart of Dublin's scenic southeastern side. St Stephen's Green, the hotel's namesake, is the neighboring 27-acre park that began long ago as communal livestock grazing land. In 1663, Dublin's City Council blocked public access to the property and sold off some of its expanse. Luckily for the city and its future residents, Sir Arthur Guinness, a Member of Parliament and founder of the world's thickest beer, proposed a bill that preserved the Green as a public park in 1877. The historic neighborhood surrounding Saint Stephens Green offers guests a myriad of destinations and attractions just a short walk away.
The Stephen's Green hotel features 64 guestrooms and 11 suites, each stylishly decorated with soft, rich fabrics and comfortable modern furnishings. Air- conditioning, direct-dial telephones, cable television, and data hookups are standard in all rooms, and the hotel's eleven suites each feature a unique dÈcor and breathtaking views of the city skyline. Guests will delight in the hotel's 24-hour gymnasium, its valet parking, and its seven state-of-the-art meeting facilities, ranging in size and setting. Fine bistro dining is available in the hotel's "Pie Dish" restaurant, and light meals accompanied by tasty cocktails can be found in its "Magic Glasses" bar. Both eating establishments were named for a local legend, George Fitzmaurice, a talented-yet-lesser-known playwright who used to live in the Georgian buildings now a part of the Stephen's Green Hotel.
Guests will find countless attractions at an arm's reach - Trinity College, Merrion Square, O'Connell Street, and Temple Bar are all only minutes away. The Stephen's Green Hotel offers a peaceful oasis from which to explore the Fair City of Dublin, and is convenient to fine dining, shopping, and entertainment venues.
